Our changing world: Two views of nature, climate and people
Local author Mark Schlack joins essayist Matt Stansberry as they read from recently published works.
Matt Stansberry will read from his book of essays Rust Belt Arcana: Tarot and Natural History in the Exurban Wilds. Each essay pairs a tarot card with an animal or plant that mirrors the card’s traditional associations; one of the Nature Conservancy’s favorite books of 2018. Matt Stansberry grew up in the Cleveland area and returned there after living and working in the Boston area and Eugene, Oregon.
Mark Schlack will read from Replay Earth, his apocalyptic science fiction novel about life in the late 21st century. Mark Schlack has lived in Cambridge for 35 years, working as a technical journalist for a number of notable magazines and websites. His work combines his commitment to social justice with a lifelong passion for science and learning.
